Found some live links to the archived e-editions of several of our old Grand Valley Magazine issues, a subscription-based monthly lifestyle magazine celebrating the dynamic life, landscape, and people of western Colorado published from 2008 to 2016.
As founder, I published the magazine with a dedicated team of talented media professionals from October 2008, a month before the economic crash that fall, through our final issue January 2016.
The company was closed shortly thereafter.
Needless to say, it was an eventful eight-year run, filled with amazing highs and devastating lows; and of course there are far too many things I would do differently if faced with the same decisions, market players and conditions (and my own mental health) all over again.
Because Grand Valley Magazine was a glossy perfect bound magazine and our budget was horribly tight, we didn’t add e-editions until the November 2012 issue. I’m so glad I found these old archive links; not sure how long they last; hoping a while longer; so many of the stories and photos are timeless.
Closing was really hard after publishing the final issue January 2016, but now it seems so long ago. Another lifetime, another era. Looking back, I am proud of the work we did for, by, and about our community.
Each issue offered a glimpse into the positive aspects of life on the western slope during even the toughest of times. We work hard, we play hard. These old issues are fun to revisit on occasion. I wish I had links to all of them, but here are a few below.
