These are the first three alcohol ink collage pieces I’ve made in years! I had to reacquaint myself with the inks, which took a while, but I had such a lovely time playing with them.

I’d forgotten how much I enjoy collage; something about combining different shapes, textures, colors that is simply fascinating, and therapeutic of course, the sorting, grouping, and such. I use a lot of metallic alcohol inks in them, but its hard to tell in the photos. The browns and whites in the photos are actually gold/copper and pearl/silver.

I should’ve taken a picture of the blue one with the shell raised; there is a faux gemstone underneath it. Silly to put something hidden in it, but seemed like the obvious thing to do! If I think about it later I’ll add a photo of it raised. I like putting “things” on my little collages.

The urge to break out the art apron came from spending too much time in the Palisade art galleries late this week!
